This study aims to explain the strategies employed by husbands to build household harmony in polygamous families living under one roof in Plerean Village, Sumberjambe District, Jember Regency, and to analyze these strategies through Abdul Majid An-Najjar’s concept of Maqasid al-Shariah. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, collecting data through direct field observations, interviews with parties involved in polygamous practices under one roof, and a review of literature on the Islamic legal perspective on polygamy as well as Abdul Majid An-Najjar’s maqasid framework. The findings show that there are six main strategies implemented by husbands to foster harmony in polygamous households under one roof: ensuring justice in the allocation of time, fairness in financial support, establishing shared household rules through mutual agreement, strengthening communication and offering open appreciation to each wife, providing emotional and physical support according to individual needs, and setting an example in worship and spiritual guidance. These six strategies align with Abdul Majid An-Najjar’s maqasid al-shariah, particularly in safeguarding religion (hifz al-din), protecting life physically and non-physically (hifz al-nafs), preserving property (hifz al-mal), maintaining lineage (hifz al-nasl), and upholding human dignity and freedom (hifz karamat al-insaniyyah and hifz hurriyyat al-insaniyyah). Thus, the success of husbands in managing polygamous households under one roof is determined not only by fulfilling material responsibilities but also by their ability to ensure emotional justice, effective communication, and spiritual leadership, thereby creating a harmonious and cohesive family life in accordance with the principles of maqasid al-shariah.
