Analysis of the Strategy for Utilizing Medicinal Plants from a Sustainable Health Perspective in Gempol Hamlet, Jedongcangkring Village

This study aims to analyze the strategy of utilizing family medicinal plants from a sustainable health perspective and to increase public understanding regarding the benefits of family medicinal plants through regular education in Gempol Hamlet, Jedongcangkring Village. The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) or Community Based Approach. The results of the study indicate that there is an increase in public understanding of the benefits of family medicinal plants, and some people have even begun to reduce chemical drugs and switch to utilizing family medicinal plants (TOGA) as the main treatment option. However, this study did not run smoothly, many obstacles had to be faced ranging from community rejection, lack of information, to the lack of innovation in processing family medicinal plant products. This study recommends that the strategy of utilizing TOGA from a sustainable health perspective should be integrated more structured into family health, to improve community health resilience and support the achievement of higher quality sustainable health in the Gempol Hamlet community, Jedongcangkring Village.
