Author Guidelines

1. General Description

AlJihad: Journal of Community Service publishes articles resulting from community service activities, empowerment programs, and best practices relevant to improving the quality of life and community welfare. To maintain publication quality, authors are expected to follow these author guidelines, which include manuscript formatting requirements, structure, citation style, and submission procedures.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration for publication in other journals. Authors are fully responsible for the authenticity and validity of the data presented in the manuscript.

This journal implements a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential during the review process.

The publication process includes:

- Administrative Check – ensuring the manuscript complies with the guidelines and template.

- Plagiarism Screening – using plagiarism detection software with a maximum similarity limit of 20%.

- Peer Review – reviewing the substance and quality of the manuscript by experts in the field.

- Revision by Author – based on feedback from reviewers and editors.

- Final Approval and Publication – accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in a specific issue.

 

2. Language and Writing Ethics

a. Manuscripts must be written in proper English or Indonesian.

b. Avoid ambiguous or overly technical language without explanation.

c. Authors must comply with academic publication ethics and avoid plagiarism.

d. Maximum similarity level is 20%.

 

3. General Manuscript Format

a. Paper size: A4, margins: top 2.5 cm; bottom 2.5 cm; left 3 cm; right 2.5 cm.

b. Single-column layout, Cambria font, 12 pt size, 1.15 line spacing.

c. Recommended length: 10–15 pages.

d. Follow the official journal template.

 

4. Manuscript Structure
a. Title

- Maximum 14 words, clear, concise, and informative.

- No abbreviations or formulas.

- Written in Garamond 14 pt.

 

b. Author Names and Affiliations

- Full names without academic degrees.

- Affiliations (institutions) for each author in order.

- Corresponding author’s email marked with an asterisk (*).

 

c. Abstract

- Written in both Indonesian and English.

- Length: 150–250 words.

- Includes purpose, methods, results, and conclusion.

- Cambria 10 pt, italic, single-spaced.

 

d. Keywords

- Maximum 5 words/phrases, separated by commas, in alphabetical order.

- Cambria 10 pt, italic.

 

e. Introduction

- Contains background, research objectives, research significance, and a brief literature review.

- Avoid overly technical details.

 

f. Research Methods

- Includes research type, procedures, instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques.

- Provide references if methods refer to other sources.

 

g. Results and Discussion

- Recommended to be combined in one section.

- Results must be presented clearly; discussion should interpret and elaborate on implications.

- Citations must follow APA Style 6th/7th edition.

 

h. Conclusion

- Must address the research questions.

- May include relevant suggestions based on the results.

 

i. References

- Must follow APA Style 6th/7th edition.

- Use reference managers such as Mendeley or Zotero.

- At least 80% from primary sources within the last 10 years.

 

5. Tables and Figures

a. Number sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, etc.).

b. Table titles placed above tables; figure titles placed below figures.

c. Cambria 10 pt, single-spaced.

d. External sources must be cited.

 

6. Manuscript Submission

a. Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system of DASA Journal.

b. Authors must ensure their manuscript follows the official template.

c. Non-compliant manuscripts will be returned for correction before review.
